Mission & Catholic Education
An education that shapes the
mind, heart, and spirit.
Catholic education forms students for more than academic success. It helps young people grow in faith, character, knowledge, and service so they are prepared to live with purpose and lead with compassion.
Diocese Of Memphis Catholic Schools
Our Mission
Catholic Schools of Memphis exists to support and strengthen Catholic education across West Tennessee. Rooted in the teachings of the Church and guided by Gospel values, our schools help students grow as thoughtful learners, faithful disciples, compassionate neighbors, and responsible leaders.
Through academic excellence and Christ-centered formation, Catholic schools partner with families to educate the whole child. Students are challenged to grow in knowledge, encouraged to develop their gifts, and invited to use those gifts in service to others.
Each school community has its own story, personality, and traditions. Some are diocesan schools, some are parish schools, and others are private Catholic schools or Catholic preschool programs. Together, they offer families a network of educational options shaped by Catholic values and a commitment to helping students discover and use their God-given gifts.
The Faith-First Approach
What makes Catholic education different?
In a Catholic school, faith is not separated from learning. It shapes the way students are taught, supported, corrected, encouraged, and prepared for life. Students encounter a school culture where academic growth, moral formation, prayer, service, and community are woven together. Catholic education gives families a school experience that is both deeply personal and purpose-driven. Students are known by name, held to high expectations, and reminded that their lives have meaning beyond achievement alone.
